Project Brief
A project brief was created alongside the client to determine the requirements for this video, look/feel, and any restrictions to consider. This video was essentially are re-make to a previous made video.
Storyboard
This project goal was to reconstruct and animate a previously made video to convey the same narraition message, but update the animation to appear more sophisticated and implement a dynamic nuance to the transitions and motion design. The storyboard was crafted using the already made video to convey what will be altered and key componenets to remake.
Creating the components
Due to this video being a re-make. The client needed this to be a faster turnaround time that average animation videos. To meet that faster turnaround time, our aim was to redesign the graphics in the video to fit a more glass-like concept with depth and then begin the animation phase from there. Below are the new graphics we created to allow us to begin the animation phase.
Updating the story motion design
Wtih new graphics being implemented, a new request came from the client to update the story so that it may be more simplified. This required some parts of the original narration to be cut. This lead to a new storyboard (seen below) in which we used the platform Miro to help collaborate within the team to establish a new storyline and how to implement the new graphics.
End Result
This video was able to be completed in 10 drafts. Each draft has a new scene updated in terms of motion design as well as smoothness in transition. The goal was to create the video to have a seamless animation story while also incorporating some scenes/frames that were specific to the original video. The end results was 1920 x 1080p video that would be used as an explainer video on the Tellius website.
